Preparing for the future.

Northstar Career Center serves juniors, seniors and young adults not only from the Academy but also the Greater Richmond area. They learn the skills necessary for competitive careers through learning hands-on instruction, work-flow management and furthering those skills with work site experiences.

Northstar Career Center serves students with a wide range of abilities, including 12 of the 13 disabilities identified by IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act).

Northstar Career Center fits with your life.

Northstar Career Center understands that people living with disabilities benefit from customized approaches as they work towards their goals. Because of this, we work diligently to make Northstar Career Center accessible, with full and part-time options that can continue with public and private schools, homeschooling, college courses, and jobs.

We partner with the best.

Northstar Career Center proudly partners with public and private schools to provide technical education for their students. Northstar Career Center also compliments a homeschool education, providing workforce education and experience.

Northstar Career Center is a service provider for the Virginia Department of Aging and Rehabilitative Services (DARS). If you’re working with DARS, we can help. Please contact Holly Peele, Director of Career Center at hpeele@northstarva.org.

Northstar Career Center prepares students for college.

In addition to providing industry skills for competitive careers, Northstar Career Center teaches students essential skills such as work-flow management, how to ask for and use accommodations, workplace social skills and independent living. All of these skills are transferable to a post-secondary program.
