Students stretch at the beginning of P.E. class.

At Northstar, we strive to meet our families’ needs.

Northstar is an investment in your child’s ability to thrive in the classroom and in the workplace. We understand that investing in education is an important financial decision. Families have a variety of options to make enrolling at Northstar a possibility. From financial aid and scholarships to discounts and payment options, we are here to help students and families.

While Northstar tuition ranges from $16,489 to $32,860 the average cost of educating a student is much higher.

Thankfully, our parents, grandparents, staff, and other generous donors continue investing in the future of Northstar and our students to offset the difference through philanthropic efforts, such as donating to our Annual Fund and Scholarship Fund.

Financial Aid & Scholarships

  • On average, 35-40% of students are placed at Northstar through a public school district or placement partner organization.
  • In 2024-2025, Northstar awarded $204,000 in need-based assistance.
  • Additional funds may be awarded to qualifying students by GReat Aspirations Scholarship Program, Inc (GRASP), Virginia Tribal Education Consortium (VTEC), Dept of Veterans Affairs (VA), or private donors.
  • About 50% of family-placed students who qualify receive some level of assistance.

We use the FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment System to make an unbiased determination of your need. Once a scholarship application is complete and all requested documents are verified, the scholarship committee determines awards.

Awards are made on a first come first serve basis.

A student must be accepted to Northstar before the family can be awarded a scholarship. Limited financial aid is available and scholarships are awarded beginning in March continuing throughout the enrollment season. Families may apply at any time throughout the enrollment season, however funding may not be available.
